ABOUT THE CHINA HAND
For years I have been fascinated by China. A country so large, so varied, so populous, that the only way to properly appreciate it is one experience at a time. Every time you step off the plane in China there is a feeling of excitement. A feeling that anything can happen. A place this big, with this many people... Surely one of them could end up a best friend or a worst enemy? Surely this is the time I'll make my fortune; or maybe lose all my money?
It is that sense of excitement and endless possibility that keeps drawing me back to this fascinating land. That, and the food. And the landscape. And the multitude of friendly people you meet along the way. And the tea. And the beer...
So over the course of the past many years I have lived in China, studied in China, and travelled there frequently. I've been fortunate to be able to see the frozen lands north of the (Great) Wall, the steaming emerald jungles of the South, the pulsing cities of the East, and the silent deserts of the West. During my travels, I have relied on many guidebooks but one of the best resources has been the community of passionate bloggers who are able to shine a spotlight on parts of this fascinating country that otherwise you might miss as a visitor. It is my hope that this blog will give you some avenues to have your own China experience and get to know a part of this amazing land. Whether that is through culture, art, food, drink, the outdoors, meeting the people, seeing the famous sights... it is up to you! I will keep adding various posts to give you ideas. Above all, China is a place that rewards getting lost and giving things a go. So what are you waiting for...
